Your experience contributes to something bigger. Around €5,000 from every Impact Trip goes directly back into the communities and programmes that make this experience possible. It helps create special meals and celebrations for more than 500 children, supports the year-round programmes of 22STARS, invests in local entrepreneurs and ensures that the Ugandan team and community members who share their time, knowledge and skills with us are included and fairly compensated. Your time in Uganda lasts nine days. The impact continues long after you leave.

Stella Airoldi
Founder & International Host
Stella first travelled to Uganda in 2009 and has spent more than 15 years building relationships, social enterprises and community-led initiatives there. With a background in international law and human rights, she brings her experience in social entrepreneurship, purposeful living and working across borders into the conversations and reflections throughout the journey.
Susan Laker
Kampala Project Leader
Susan has been part of the 22STARS story from the very beginning and today leads our programmes in Kampala. Her deep connection to the community, years of leadership experience and local knowledge offer participants an authentic perspective on life, education and entrepreneurship in Kampala, always accompanied by her warmth, energy and sense of humour.
Aidah Nambozo Wafula
Jinja Project Leader
Aidah leads the 22STARS programmes in Jinja and has worked alongside Stella since the early days of the organisation. She brings extensive experience working with children, families and entrepreneurs and opens the door to the community she knows so well, sharing both its everyday realities and the progress she has witnessed over the years.
David Wafula
Uganda Coordinator & Host
David coordinates the work of 22STARS across Kampala and Jinja and has been part of the leadership team for many years. His experience across both communities gives him a unique overview of the programmes and partnerships behind 22STARS, while his local knowledge helps bring every part of the Impact Trip together.
David Schmidt
International Co-Host
David first discovered Uganda as an Impact Trip participant himself and later became closely involved with 22STARS. Today, he co-hosts the experience alongside Stella and the Ugandan team, bringing both a participant's perspective and his own experience back to the group, while helping create a relaxed and personal atmosphere throughout the journey.
